“The only thing worse than a liar is a liar that’s also a hypocrite!” Tennessee Williams

“The only thing worse than a liar that’s also a hypocrite is a jackwagon.” Dan Silverman

Ed. Note: The Gentry of Gentrification hahaha it kills me every time.

Side Note: The Prince of Petworth is the King of Gentrification would probably stick better. (Trademark pending) Alliteration is not always your friend. Don’t force it. Now the Ruler of Revitalization on the other hand…

Ed. Note: Gentrification is the root of all urban evil is the most intellectually lazy argument one can make. Life and cities are full of nuance that cannot be captured by a single word. Complex problems require complex solutions and you do a disservice by oversimplifying the problem. It’s much more difficult than coming up with catchy slogans. Of course, camp was so much better last summer, right?

Lazy effort all around. Looks like they just reused “Hello, My Name Is…” stickers.

    • Tom

Agreed, totally derivative. D minus at best.

Kids couldn’t have at least made nicer looking stickers? Cmon guys! Don’t you know it’s all about cute/kitschy branding these days? Step it up! At least those “something on fire” fellas put some work into their stickers.

Note: the Bowser “CONDOS” wheatpastes were genius. Take note, children!

      • textdoc

Were they covered on PoPville? I don’t remember them.

        • MadMax

Not sure if they were covered here, but there’s one on a street sign just outside my house!

          • Vicar

I am politically opposed to anything in wheatpaste.

  • zipdc

You know you’ve made it when…

  • tacopuss

I mean, I don’t always agree with you, but you’ve lived here for what, 15 years? The dude who put this up was probably in middle school then.

  • JL

Hahaha. That’s weak. They must be jealous bloggers with really bad typography skills.

…and also, gentrification has made a lot of things better here. Cities change over time, just roll with it.

We, Popville, could probably be referred to as the Gentry of Gentrification, but it doesn’t really make sense for you.
