A reader reports:

“I just stopped in today and was informed by the staff that unfortunately this wonderful place of joy is closing for good. I loved coming here, the staff was always nice expecially the manager. I just thought I’d share with readers, they’re having a 40% off sale and closing their doors for good on Monday at 6 pm. This was the last Godiva in DC left after Union Station & Connecticut Avenue previously closed : ( ”

It’s ok, just think of Uncle Joe.

  • Keep us posted PoP!

  • Yet another great shop closing in Georgetown. . . Please keep us posted.

  • i’ve always loved that little shop! so cute. hope something good comes of it.

  • Sadly, their chocolate isn’t what it used to be and its’ for sale in a great many places, so I’m mostly surprised any of their stores are still open.

  • I’ve never been a big Godiva fan (my mom loves their stuff) but we would buy boxes of Godiva for client gifts here and there and I would go to this store to get them. They truly were always so friendly and helpful, very true that they have a wonderful manager. It’s sad to see them go, but Georgetown is really becoming sad and I quite frankly hate working around here.

  • 40% off, so only $500 for a truffle.
