this is disturbing. thinking about these kids.

  • SomeGuy

Yes, I’m not sure why this hasn’t gotten more press either.

    • Anon Spock

Black missing teens don’t get as much press.

      • dcgator

        Yup, that’s just about it.

  • wdc

Fingers crossed that they are dumb inconsiderate kids who hopped a bus to NYC and will be back when they run out of money.
But the mind goes some terrible places. Especially for Emerald, who has been missing almost a month.

Their families must be so upset! Hoping they are found safe and sound soon.

The reason we’re seeing more of these is a particularly inspired and determined new Commander with the DCPD Youth & Family division! http://www.fox5dc.com/news/dc-news/233676272-story

MPD gave this same answer to a similar question on a neighborhood list serve.

Poor black girls from poor black
Neighbors. That’s why this hasn’t received any attention on the local news.

It needs to be said….It is very sad to consistently observe that readership on this blog can nearly instantly respond with 150 + comments on the most trivial “first world problems” types of topics….but when four human beings go missing, only 9 people care enough to even comment in an 8 hour time span.

Kudos for posting this in the first place….Black, white rich, poor or otherwise. And kudos to the 9 well wishers thus far. And not that we need a steady diet of bad news, we really need to be more focused on more important things in life than the hottest new bar…the latest pop up annoyance…the coolest coffee shop or neighborhood, etc.

Would be nice if more details could be provided.
