Thanks to a reader for passing on:

“This survey asks about your experiences with, and opinions about, public safety in Washington, DC. The results will help the Bowser Administration continue to make the city safer and stronger while better serving residents in all eight wards. We highly value your input.

This survey is completely confidential. Your responses will be anonymous, and we will not collect information to identify you.

Thank you for your participation.

This survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.”

Just took the survey and glad to see them reaching out.

^^ Came here just to say that. Saw it posted on my neighborhood listserv today. I really hope that this isn’t just for show, and the MPD does do something with the responses. I’d also be curious to see the results of this survey.

Same, but not sure I loved some of the choices in the questions. I don’t care much about open container laws, but I do care about the open use of marijuana all over the city. But they group those two together. And there was near zero mention of petty crime like package or other personal property theft, which plagues the city. I made sure to mention in the comments where possible, but seems to make me question their focus on those issues.

Yes, god forbid someone smoke the marijuana. They should be arrested and have a criminal record follow them around for the rest of their life posthaste.

I don’t know about Shawnn, but I’m fine with people smoking pot. I would just really appreciate it if they would follow the law and smoke it on their property, not at the bus stop, the metro stop, the rec center, the corner of my block…. Modern weed is SO skunky!

It’s so unfortunate that there’s no middle ground between “letting people smoke pot whenever and wherever they like” and “criminal record for life.”

This is so stupid. If they actually want input they should pay for a representative survey. This will tell them nothing.

Someone has two impeach Bowser signs on South Dakota Ave that keeps getting removed lol. Yesterday they had it staked in a 2×4 for one and in the ground on the other with a sign indicating that camera surveillance is watching the signs

This morning the signs were gone again lol
