I am so confused. Where does the “shawarma” come in?

    • Thank you :)

      • Awesome – thank you – I was so confused!!

      • Hill Denizen

This is so weird. It’s basically a crepe.

Yeah. I think they’ve introduced unnecessary confusion with the name.

They use a huge cylinder of chocolate on a spit and shave off pieces, like shawarma. They also have a version of a Nutella fruit salad. Both are apparently trendy desserts in cities such as London and Rome geared toward people of Middle Eastern descent, according to several minutes of Googling.

It’s like a middle eastern choco-taco! (Which also had nothing to do with tacos except being shaped like one)

I was really confused about this too.

At least there is truth in advertising: one certainly will be “twisting” one’s senses

I can’t imagine someone seriously thought that this would be a wise business idea – unless, of course, someone is simply looking for a sizeable tax writeoff.

I’m amazed with the amount of mediocre to crappy food establishments in Georgetown. The rents must be crazy high. How do they make money?

      • Anon

Many of these spots have a captive audience with all the tourists milling about, but this location seems far enough off the beaten path that I doubt they’d get sufficient incidental traffic to make much profit.

the savory/chocolate idea kind of reminds me of the place that used to be up on georgia, near military road? the space that’s now salt & pepper grill? seemed kinda interesting to me although of course it didn’t work out for them. nutella salad. ok.
