Thanks to a reader for sending word about Lacoste after 12 years. I also noticed that Buffalo Exchange had closed (after 4 years) too:

3279 M Street, NW

On the opening side an Aesop skin care spot is now in the former Subway sandwich shop at M and Potomac:

This is a better location for Aesop. I wonder how well they’re doing at The Shay these days. Every time I’ve walked by it’s empty.

The Shay does not have a location that results in a lot of casual shoppers. Warby Parker works because people go when they need/want glasses. I don’t think there’s a lot of “just browsing” in that area.
It also doesn’t help when half the apartments above aren’t rented and the ones that are are spending all of their disposable income on a rip-off apartment….

Haha yes I get that and I agree that’s why I stated the Georgetown location is better.

Didn’t the Barney’s recently close too?

  • i think the lacoste closure says more about the brand than the location itself. logo branded clothes like lacoste, polo, etc. aren’t doing so well these days.

I wonder if Lacoste will open near or at City Center.
