Shooting Homicide in Takoma Just before 8pm Monday

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two persons of interest in a fatal shooting which occurred on Monday, December 26, 2016, in the 200 block of Cedar Street, Northwest.

At approximately 7:46 pm, members of the Fourth District received a call for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 37-year-old James Dorsey Jr., of no fixed address.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

“At approximately 1950 hours, Fourth District units responded to 218 Cedar Street, NW in reference to a shooting. Units discovered an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his body. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced. Anyone with information related to this case should call 202.727.9099”
