Completely renovated.. and yet the kitchen looks like my parents tract-home kitchen built in the early 80’s

  I’m not a fan of this house or its kitchen — especially not the columns/arch thing leading to the next room — but “completely remodeled in recent years” seems like a legitimate claim to me.
  .
  Not sure what your parent’s tract-home kitchen has in common with this one, but granite/quartz countertops were not popular at that time (formica/laminate was the dominant countertop surface), and the cabinets would probably have been darker in stain/color.
