Sorry but somebody shooting another one is a danger to the community

hence the use of the word continuous, i.e., the shooter intended to shoot the victim and no one else, unlike a violent robbery that turns into a homicide on the street.

I don’t think the person was planning on shooting a mom at a Memorial Day BBQ in Shaw either, but it happened. Targeted shootings are “better” than random, but it’s not something to shrug your shoulders at and say welp, let’s move on.

Domestic violence is a continuous threat to the community. Words matter.

Serious question, not trying to be snarky: would you prefer that the police wait longer to release basic facts about crimes so that they can be copy-edited first? I totally get what you are saying, and basically agree with you, however, if I lived on the block where the shooting happened, that is a situation where I would place a premium on getting important basic facts quickly, and would be probably willing to forgive language that I’d be offended by in most other contexts.

    Oh, okay then. Never mind.
