Thanks to a reader for sending. You can see all the info about Farmers & Distillers here.

In celebration of George Washington and the nation’s capital both then and now, the Farmers & Distillers menu showcases cuisines from a variety of influences found all around DC. There is inspiration from neighboring Chinatown with hand-pulled noodles, shaobing (Chinese flatbread) and farmers-style dumplings. You’ll find crispy pork schnitzel recalling the original German immigrants working on DC’s east side; GW loved European cooking techniques, which are being utilized in dishes like Pot au Feu (slow cooked short rib) and Bouillabaisse. Every decision was pulled through the filter of “What would George do?” be it with flavor, plate ware, cooking technique, or design.

Side note: Do you like the way the building turned out:

6th and Massachusetts Ave, NW

  • Brett M

This is one of the better glass office buildings in DC. Plus the Eye Street side uses more masonry, with grayish colored brick and stone. Great design by DC standards.

  • Truxtoner

I could care less about the building, but am very happy they finally stopped taking up a southbound lane of 6th Street. Between that and the construction at 6th and New York Avenue, that entire area has been a disaster during rush hour.

Stopped in for lunch today (opening day). I expect difficulties on opening day. That’s fine. This, however, was a disaster. Of the four items we ordered, only ONE was actually above room temperature. When it came time to pay the bill, we had to correct numerous items on the bill that were miskeyed. I am sympathetic to opening-day glitches, and everyone we dealt with was very nice, but I can’t imagine we will ever be back, despite living only 3 blocks away.
