“Ivy City Is…” is a collaborative, resident and artist-led creative project that invites residents to customize an individual “Ivy City Is…” sign, declaring what this community means to them. A series of large plywood letters, spelling “IVY CITY” are screenprinted with a portraits of residents with their customized signs, historic images, and maps. This installation was crafted during a series of free, screen printing workshops, open to the public at Open Studio DC. These letters are placed throughout the neighborhood and will be unveiled together.
