Where to Donate CDs without cases?

by Prince Of Petworth October 11, 2016 at 2:05 pm 7 Comments

“Dear PoPville,

I have a large collection of CDs, most of which have neither cases nor booklets. I can no longer play them as I don’t have a cd player or stereo. I would like to give them to someone or some place that can use and enjoy them. Do you know of anywhere I could donate them in the DC area, or alternatively, what to do with them? There is music from many genres.”

Me me me! Or another art teacher. We use them for many things! I can come pick them up… get my email address from Dan.

I would check with the Takoma community radio station: http://takomaradio.org/.

      I like this idea.
You could also try offering them on the Freecycle DC Yahoogroup or the Craigslist free section. I’d recommend providing some basic information about what you’re giving away — how many CDs (approximately), time period(s). genres, and any other descriptive information (e.g., “commercial hip-hop 2000-2010,” “college radio 1995-2000,” “Top 40 1985-1998”).

I donated a bunch of CDs to SCRAP DC a while back. Unfortunately they have closed but I think they opened a new shop in Baltimore. So if you feel like taking your CDs for a goodbye drive….

I’ll take them, rip them to my computer, then give them to @houseintherear for art projects.

    100% serious.
