From a press release:

“The Story of Our Schools, a DC nonprofit dedicated to empowering young people to tell the powerful stories of their school community, has been selected as the first beneficiary of the Appointed Gives Back campaign.

Between October 20, 2016 and May 1, 2017 Appointed will release a limited edition DC notebook for $24 and donate a portion of the proceeds to The Story of Our Schools.
“We are extremely grateful to Appointed for selecting The Story of Our Schools to be part of their campaign,” said The Story of Our Schools Executive Director Jen Harris. “As a small non-profit, we will be able to use the proceeds to assist the hard work already underway by students and teachers working to tell the story of Capitol Hill Montessori @ Logan and Marie Reed Elementary School.”

“The D.C. community has been an integral part of the Appointed story and growth.  All of our products are proudly American made, many in the Washington, D.C. area. We’re excited to create the Appointed Gives Back program by donating net proceeds of our limited edition Washington, D.C. workbook to a local education-based non profit. The Story of Our Schools was the perfect choice to be our first partner.  Their mission in bringing pride and community awareness to District public schools plays an important role of sharing the rich histories and stories of our schools and the District.” – Suann Song, founder of Appointed.

The Story of Our Schools is a nonprofit dedicated to helping DC students research and share the history of their school and surrounding neighborhood by creating permanent lobby exhibits that engage the entire community. Our work is made possible through partnerships with DCPS, historical depositories, and schools throughout the district. Learn more by visiting: storyofourschools.org
