From MPD:

“On Saturday, October 15th , 2016, at approximately 12:30am, members of the Third District’s Crime Suppression Team were patrolling in the area of the 1900 block of 14th St., NW. During this time officers observed a vehicle being operated at a high rate of speed in an area filled with pedestrians and bicyclists. The officers initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle in the interests of safety. During the course of the stop in the 1400 block of Paloma Way, officers discovered that the occupant(s) were armed with an unregistered, loaded, 9mm Handgun. Due to the continual hard work of this group of officers, another illegal handgun was removed from the streets.”
