Uh, isn’t this the same day as Snallygaster? and crap dangit, I’m going to be out of town this weekend. boo.

  • AnonV2

Yes. That is unfortunate timing for another beer event! Although each may be attractive to different audiences.

this event is shamefully bad. they ran out of beer the year I went. even though you get tickets so its really not that hard to predict what you need. its stereotypical germany at its worst.

Are you sure it was our Oktoberfest you came to? There are no drink tickets (it’s all-you-can-drink) and we have 9 breweries serving (the members of the DC Brewers’ Guild). We have never run out of beer. We have had traditional German music and food (and we are the home of a German brewer), so it is pretty German…that’s true!

I believe you may be speaking of the 2014 Fruhlingsfest event (springtime). They did run out of beer, but that was a catering matter and not the house.

This place is great and I love the Christmas market.

How is it stereotypical germany[sic] at its worst? Germany never runs out of beer.

Why would they pick the same weekend as snallygaster?? There’s one free weekend in between snallygaster and the Shirlington Oktoberfest seems like the 24th would have been a much better decision considering this was planned so late?

Because it is the true opening day of Oktoberfest. This event is centered around German Oktoberfest and Snallygaster is just about craft beer
