Tony reported:

2 shootings on 7th and Jefferson in 3 days. What is going on to help?”

Posting more about that incident at 1pm today.

and last night just before 11pm:

“1D SHOOTING/1200 BLOCK NORTH CAPITOL ST NW/NO LOOKOUT”

  • Anon

I’m sure that nobody at Tyler House knows anything about either shooting…

  • anon

Why the weird photo of someone holding a bullet? That’s a live round and not a shell casing, so I don’t think the photo has anything to do with the incidents described in the post.

    • Bob

Agreed. That’s a live round that has been sitting on the ground or some dirt for a while judging by the corrosion. Shell casings are generally brass and would be bright and shiny if just fired.

      • Ok I’ll just stick with a generic police tape photo next time 🙁 Let’s not lose the forest for the trees.

        • anon

I’m not losing the forest for the trees or in any way trying to switch the subject from the seriousness of the shootings. I live in Brightwood Park, so am particularly interested in the 3,787th shooting at 7th/8th and Jefferson. It’s not a big deal, just trying to inject some journalistic attention-to-detail to this blog:).

          • You’ve come to the wrong blog then 🙂 But seriously, and sadly, lots more horrifying details about the Jefferson shooting at 1pm today.

        • Ben

I suggest a photo of puppies “attacking” a person with kisses for the next shooting related posting.

          • You know I do love puppies. And in how f-ed up this world is – please do come back for the 1pm post…

    • It’s fucked up – just like multiple daytime shootings is fucked up. I can explain all photo choices at the next Happy Hour which I need to schedule post haste!

  • Common Sense

    Did anyone call 9-1-1?

Bowser and Todd are seriously pathetic for their lack of caring.

    • ParkViewneighbor

      hahahahaha
what do you expect ? there is probably some ribbon cutting ceremony for a new condo building somewhere. THAT is what matters

  • Truxtoner

In 24 hours, there were THREE separate shootings all within two blocks of the North Cap/New York intersection. Two you mention here in this thread, but there was also one at about 11:30pm on Sunday night on the unit block of O Street NW. No one injured thankfully.

    • E.

Has there been anything from MPD or the media on the Unit O St shooting? I’ve only seen anything about it from residents on social media, which is sort of troubling.

      • Yeah there’s been some odd reporting from MPD over the last few days.
