* Knock wood, God willing, Fingers crossed, Baruch Hashem. For real this time if all goes well.

With Shaw like fervor, Petworth’s restaurant scene continues to explode. I’ve been getting lots of emails from folks spotting diners at the long awaited Slim’s. These have been private events but I’m told it is very very likely they’ll be open to the public on Wednesday.*

In the meantime I call dibs on a booth:

  • That actually turned out pretty nice.

    • NH Ave Hiker

agreed, do we have any word on what the menu is going to be like? I would love an actual (affordable) traditional diner type.

  • SF

So jealous of Petworth right now. Solid basic diners are hard to come by in DC (RIP Capital City Diner).

  • bruno

I love it. Five Gold Bruno stars.

  • Ally

This looks really cute! I’m on the other side of town and may have to make this a date night spot anyway.

    You’re gonna need a bigger flat top…..

I understand that it is the motif of that time and this restaurant is going for that motif – but doesn’t this look eerily similar to Ted’s?

Of course, if I started pointing out all the restaurants and bars that look similar….

    • Truxton Thomas

The difference is this is a diner and Ted’s is a food and beverage program inspired by diners. Just kidding I like Ted’s and such.

      • MeMe

Ted’s is just Applebee’s for yuppies.

  • Anonymous

The inside looks nice! Not a fan of the facade… Looks like lipstick on a pig, but who cares. Petworth needs this type of place! Good solid family food in a clean and inviting space.

  • General Grant Circle

Weve been in solid need of a good morning-after-drinking-around-Petworth spot
