  • Kingman Park

Best intersection in one of DC’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

Saw a cop car sitting at in the Starburst plaza last night at around 830. Figured they were permanently posting an officer there after the cleanup on Tuesday. Guess not.

The last time there was an incident at the starburst (I think it was a stabbing), Kathy Henderson said on Nextdoor that report was “unfounded” because the police have 24 hour coverage there. I’m curious what she’ll say this time!

I’m willing to bet that there were dozens of people present but “no one saw anything”. Depressing.

Isn’t this on the same block as the “safe” zone that was established on H for bar patrons to wait for their cabs/ubers in that neighborhood as an alternative form of transportation due to Safe Track? Feeling really good about that initiative.

It’s a block away from the “safe zone”

Well, apparently I drove through this intersection shortly after this happened. Saw yellow tape up and honestly didn’t think much about it, mostly because there was an ice cream truck pulled up to the curb with a huge line of adults next to it. Nothing to see here, just selling ice cream at 10:30 on a Wednesday night.

Way to take advantage of an unfortunate situation to benefit the bottom line

The ice cream truck was already there, should they have closed down?
