Zannchi’s website says:

“Zannchi, a new casual dining concept in Georgetown, is bringing fresh Korean cuisine to Washington, DC. Our flavorful small plates, hot stone rice bowls and rolls are served in a relaxed atmosphere within the restaurant’s modern Korean decor. The simple yet streamlined menu offers vegetarian options as well as heartier dishes like Bulgogi BBQ Bibimbap.”

Check out their menu (and delicious looking photos of the food) here.

Finally! The press release we’ve all been waiting for! Two sentences. Really want to try this place.

  • palisades

Wow. Did Yummi Crawfish last a year?

    • jaybird

People need to stop opening crawfish restaurants.

Weird romanization of the Korean word making up the restaurant name. I know it’s catering to a specific audience, but I wish it wouldn’t bastardized the Korean.

What would have been a better romanization?
      .
(I have issues with the romanization of the local restaurant “Matuba,” which makes sense only to Japanese speakers and not to anyone else.)

janchi would be preferred to zannchi

        • That One Guy

Yeah, there isn’t a natural ‘z’ sound in Korean.

          • FridayGirl

            +1.
Then again, romanized Korean confuses me whether its the correct romanization or not. 🙁

The way they wrote the cursive “g” is really bothering me.

Also, they’re charging $2.50 for barley tea?!?!?!

Should be pretty good, as long as the bulgogi doesn’t contain bulldoggi 😀
