11th and U Street, NW

From an email:

“This is your chance to own a piece of DC jazz history. Everything from Bohemian Caverns in DC is being sold at online only auction from the drum set to the sound equipment and barstools.

The sold out shows for this Friday and Saturday night will be the last at Bohemian Caverns. Once the last songs have played the doors will shut for good and everything inside the basement level caverns will be sold at online auction along with the restaurant equipment from the ground floor, and even the disco ball from the third floor night club.

There is a little bit of everything in the online auction including five TVs, turntables, stage lighting, speakers, microphones, the keyboard and drum set, restaurant equipment, lounge sofas, patio furniture and more. Everything is happening fast, and by 5 p.m. on Wednesday the 30th the place will be completely empty.

All of these items are being sold by Rasmus Auctions (www.rasmus.com) at internet only auction. Buyers can preview the items for sale on Sunday, March 27th from 12-4 p.m. at 2011 Eleventh Street N.W. Washington, D.C. 20001. The online auction will begin to close on Monday, March 28th at 1:07 p.m. To view and bid on the full inventory click here.”

First reaction: I’m sad to see them go and depressed to see their stuff auctioned off like this.
Second reaction (after scrolling through the photos): man am I glad I never ordered any food from that kitchen.

PS – those sofas look disgusting.

I’m not seeing any photos on the auction site.

    • Cassie

      Me neither.

I figured it out: After clicking on the link, click on the big orange “Go to the Auction” button in the upper right.
I have a feeling those Technics turntables are gonna go for way more than they’re worth. They look pretty beat up.

          Aha! Thanks!

  • Ben

Walked by there on Monday and the line to get in was wrapped around the block.

Seems Pasta Mia, M&A’s, and this place are benefiting from closing.

Well it says the auction is court ordered, so someone benefits (creditors?) but probably not the owners.

    • Reminds me of the sports memorabilia store on Barrack’s Row that’s been “going out of business” for like 3 years now.
