“Dear PoPville,

This morning around 9:30 am a neighbor found a dog near 15th and Harvard St NW. The dog had a collar but no tag, and was sweet and tame. The neighbor called the Washington Humane Society, who picked him/her up. I snapped this picture right as the Humane Society were taking him/her.”

    Definitely “him”.

      Definitely friendly!

Seriously. I was looking at the picture thinking, how did that guy contort his finger like that?

Oh, I hope the owner finds this little guy. These lost/found dog posts always make me feel anxious and I hope for positive updates. I’ve grown up with dogs (among cats, birds, Guinea pigs, a mouse, hamsters, fish, and a rabbit) my whole life, but something happened in the last 5 years and I’ve become such a “nervous Nellie” when anything negative happens to an animal.

Nevertheless, I know some dogs just like to run out the door and escape; especially if they smell a squirrel or other such creature. He looks well taken care of so I’m sure he’ll be reunited with family soon.

This is my block, but I don’t personally recognize this little pooch. Hoping his home finds him!
