They used to be my go-to for solid, reliable sushi. As of late, the quality has taken a dive in my experience. I’ve heard good things of Umi up the block, though.

I like Umi for their reliable lunch special. With tax it’s about $10 for two rolls and miso soup. And I agree about Tono. The texture of the last tuna I had there was off. Since sushi is such a trust thing for me I don’t think I’ll be back.

+1 for Tono sushi being really sketchy lately. Umi next door is A LOT better, for the same prices. What Tono does still do well is some of the other food (but only some). Their nabeyaki udon at least is actually shockingly good. And good tempura.
