“I can’t walk in to a building if I know there’s carpet somewhere. It breaks me out.”

Someone please explain why this tiny apartment is $1,800 a month and why that kitchen is considered “updated”.

perhaps they think proximity to CoHi (and subsequently, the metro) justifies this price? idk, it still seems WAY overpriced.
also, “wall to wall carpet” = carpet in kitchen? bathroom? *shudders*

My guess is that the appliances are new, but calling it an “updated kitchen” on that basis alone is a bit of a stretch. Maybe also because it’s semi-open to the living/dining area?
The pricing seems optimistic to me. I ended up renting out my old place in Adams Morgan (which, granted, is not as convenient to Metro) for $75/month less than that. My unit — with a kitchen and bathroom of a vintage similar to the ones here — was bigger, had a washer-dryer, had some hardwood in addition to tile and carpet, and was more attractive, and the unit was in an elevator-equipped building. (It’s not clear whether this building has an elevator.)

Hahahahaha. Overpriced by $200-$300 a month. You can get a 200 sq ft larger junior bedroom in a brand new apartment building in Mt. Vernon Triangle for that price.
