I once had a rental with monthly cleaning service included. It’s brilliant. $80 a month for the landlord to know every detail of what’s going on in her investment property. And I didn’t even mind that the landlord was snooping (or having someone snoop) because someone else was cleaning my place!

BOOM! This. I am thinking of renting my place and having my lovely cleaning lady come every month to 1) keep my place spotless with tenants in it and 2) tell me everything.

I always had housemates who paid me rent but had common access to the house, and maid service was a way to keep a minimum standard of clean. Worth every penny.

Very tempted to do this for my rental properties, for the little amount of $$ I’m guaranteed there isn’t any long term neglect that would cost a ton to fix when a tenant changes over. My only concern would be any liability issues this may open up.

We included maid service in our rental. Totally worth the peace of mind, knowing there was an upper-bound to how gross tenants could be.

We included maid service with our rental, too. PPs are right- small price to pay for the peace of mind knowing that if you’re place isn’t getting seriously destroyed. Our cleaner moved away and we have great tenants, so we stopped it a few months ago, but if we need to find new tenants I’d do a monthly cleaning service again.
