“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating two deaths discovered at a residence in the 200 block of Tennessee Avenue, Northeast on Monday, November 2, 2015.
At approximately 3:43 pm., members of the First District responded to a home in the 200 block of Tennessee Avenue, NE to check on the welfare of the occupants. Upon entering the residence, an adult male and an adult female were located in unresponsive states, suffering from gunshot wounds. DCFEMS were summoned to the scene and found no signs consistent with life. The decedents were later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The male decedent has been identified as 37-year-old John Robinson of Northeast, Washington.
The female decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Desiree Cooper, of Northeast, Washington.
The cause of death for both decedents is a gunshot wound. Ms. Cooper’s death has been determined to be a homicide. Mr. Robinson’s death has been determined to be a suicide.”

Escape the Bookshop II is a unique group puzzle game that is based on a real crime that took place in Takoma Park around 130 years ago. It is designed and created by HouseMouse to be played in our atmospheric little bookshop. This is not your typical corporate escape room and makes for a memorable evening out with friends or family!
Bookings are now open for game dates in January through April 2024. The game generally takes place Wednesday through Saturday at 8 PM but special arrangements can be made upon request. It is designed to be played by a group of 3 to 6 people (ages 16+) and lasts for one hour. No prior escape room experience is needed to enjoy the game.
