Your Afternoon Animal Fix

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 2 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit. Please try to send horizontal photos 640×480 (medium size on your iphone) if possible. If you’re not using an iphone any size is fine.

“Caught Tumbleweed from Petworth in a compromising position.”

“This is Tessa, and she’s an adoptable 13 yo Boxer mix from City Dogs Rescue. I’ve been fostering her and she is just the sweetest, easiest dog. Fully housetrained, quiet, waits to be invited before jumping up on couch/bed, just wants to nap and snuggle all day long. She’s perfectly healthy but was sadly surrendered by her owner in North Carolina and was going to be put down at the shelter until City Dogs pulled her out.

She is the greatest and I’m just really hoping she can find a forever family that will give her all that love back!”

“I have attached a photo of the kitten – named Marrion Parry (pronounced with a proper DC accent – Murrion Purry) – as we are now ward 8 constituents.”

Bonus of Marrion and recently featured Goose:

Oh Tessa looks so sweet. Thank you to her foster human for taking care of her and giving her a comfortable home. Hope she gets adopted!

  • textdoc

The pic of Marrion Purry the kitten is too cute! It has practically all the kitty-photo elements I like: squeezed-shut eyes, “smile” on the kitten’s face, tummy exposed (as though being proffered for a tummy rub), and cute little pawpads!
Love the look of surprise on Tumbleweed’s face.
Tessa looks very wise and dignified! Hoping she finds a good home.

Tumbleweed is so beautiful. I’m still pining over a long-haired calico I met at the GA Ave shelter more than a year ago. How I wish I’d taken her home.

  • shadesofpale

Ahhhhh Marrion Purry, cutness. textdoc you’re forgetting the sliver of tongue visible from the smile. Good luck to Tessa!

    • The Enabler

+1 that little tongue slays me

  • The Enabler

Tumbleweed’s little footie up in the air! so cute
Marrion and Goose, love inter-species love. Though this looks more like inter-species tolerance.
Tessa is pretty. I hope she gets a forever home soon.

It started with lots of barking and hissing then gradually became tolerance which turned to curiosity and now we’re in the ‘wild and exhausting obsession’ phase. It took a few weeks but they became besties!

      • The Enabler

        awww cute!

  • Farragut

Love Tumbleweed’s face in that shot, as well as the comic books I can see in the back. I <3 Gaiman's Sandman.

  • Foster love! So wonderful to see. There are so so many kitties & pups in the shelters/fosters right now – if you’ve been thinking about enriching your life – now is the time!

  • CatStalker

Oh my goodness, I want to make Murrion Purry my own!
