Located in the Cornerstone building of Monroe Street Market on Monroe Street, NE between Michigan Ave and 7th

From an email:

“I just wanted to let you know that we’ll be opening up between Chipotle and the Barnes & Noble in a few months. We just finalized our lease this week and will be starting build-out as soon as we can. Build-out will probably take about 3 months. The shop will be called Wardman Wines, and in addition to wine, we will have a good selection of beer and spirits, as well as wine-appropriate snacks. In addition, we plan on having regular tasting events and a full schedule of wine classes. We’re very excited to be coming to the neighborhood.”

I don’t know of many wine shops that have really succeeded in the city, but I’ll be glad to see if they can. Good chance they do a lot of business on Saturday mornings when the farmer’s market and Arts Walk are bustling, and everyone’s in spend-money-on-local-stuff mode.

Calvert Woodley? Schneiders? DCanter? All very successful here in DC.
