Tired of press conference, community meetings and being told I need to “police my own block.” I want to see some leadership from the mayor and council – not a bunch of hot air.

    • monkeyrotica

All the leadership in the world won’t stop parolees from shooting up their old neighborhood.

      • gk

shocked to hear how many homicide parolees and arrestees awaiting trial just roam DC streets.

      • You can’t explain this to angry citizens though. They expect predictive police arrests or something.

All Hands in Deck doesn’t appear to be working!

What do you want it to do? See Monkey’s comment above.

(PS. It’s AHOD…for All Hands On Deck.)

  • lizcolleena

So there were a total of 8 shootings last night, including the earlier one at Crittendon? That seems like a bad night.

  • Tryingtostaypositive

    Yikes! That’s a bad night!

Where was the shooting in Adams Morgan? We live at that intersection and heard nothing. Did it happen in a bar?

    • INDC

From what Borderstan is reporting it apparently happened right by Amsterdam Falafel on 18th – not confirmed though.

    • Eckington

The Adams Morgan shooting happened right in front of Amsterdam Falafel while there were dozens of people around including sitting around the patio. A friend and I were walking out of the shop as it happened and we saw the body on the side walk. The police were there within a minute and shut down the whole street. According to an officer someone walked right up to the person and shot them at point blank range, it didn’t look good.

Nothing good happens in Adams Morgan after midnight.
