  • I’ve been to La Tomate. It’s definitely a restaurant with chairs and tables and a menu.

Yeah, it was decent 15 years ago, but it’s time has passed.

My sister and I had one meal at La Tomate in the late 1980s. We both found the food mediocre. I’ve never gone back there, despite walking past it hundreds of times.

      • Respectfully disagree. The food at La Tomate has NEVER been good and I started eating there in the late 1970s.

        • Agree. NG as a hungry intern subsisting on chili cheese halfsmokes from the carts.

          2015 minus 28 years = 1970s

          Math checks out

    • You’ve been there? I always wondered who went there.

I’m surprised to find out this place is still open while Anna Maria’s across the street has closed.

If Pasta Italiana could be open for 5 years due to a good location, then any mediocre Italian restaurant can survive in a good location.
