Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Metropolitan Police Department on 202-727-9099.

There is conflicting information from the uncooperative victim.

The new location is near 14th and Girard closer to 14th street.”

Update from a reader:

“@PoPville per eyewitness: a guy fell while riding his bike, had a gun in his pocket, discharged 6-7 times, shot himself, collapsed at Hess”

Is this at the park with the basketball court?

    • Barijho

      Yes

I am surprised a gun can discharge 6-7 times from one fall.

    • DRC

A common excuse. Hoping for a lesser charge by saing “whoops I dropped it and it went off” than to say “I shot at someone 6-7 times and ended up shooting myself”.

+1. Guns don’t discharge when you drop them. Ever. Only in movies. Minor chance that maybe something on his clothes got caught on the trigger, but dude shooting himself is most logical here.

Plaxico Burress, former wide receiver for the Giants, was shot when his gun discharged after it dropped from the waistband of his pants. It happened in a nightclub. He ended up doing two years in jail for illegal gun possession.

Pretty sure that park is a hub of drug activity since I see dudes exchanging cash and who knows what else at all hours of the day, including while kids are playing there.

  • Barijho

Was the victim wearing a helmet before he shot himself?

    • D

Did he have a concealed carry permit?

    • anonymous

      ha.

    • elbeech

      +1 to the helmet

  • Anon

Was he a fine member of the G-Rod crew ?

  • accendo

Shot himself, huh? Good. Perhaps he’ll learn a lesson about how necessary and safe guns are.
