“On Wednesday, August 20, the Nationals will be hosting their 9th annual toy drive that falls on their U.S. Marine Corps Day during their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. To help support the important work of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve and the Toys for Tots Foundation, fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to donate outside Center Field Gate, from 4:30 p.m. until the end of the third inning. Donated toys will be given to nonprofit organizations and hospital pediatric wards in the D.C. area during the holidays. Drives like this, that take place outside of the holiday season will not only help the foundation to become supplied, but hopefully they will inspire others to spread the word and continue to donate year-round.”
