“Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of August 8-10 with service adjustments beginning at 10 p.m. Friday night and continuing through system closing on Sunday.

Red Line
Trains every 16 minutes

Red Line trains will operate as follows throughout the weekend:

Between Shady Grove & Glenmont: every 16 minutes
Between Grosvenor & Silver Spring: every 8-10 minutes Saturday and Sunday from 9AM-9PM only

Work Performed: Rail tie, fastener and insulator renewal between Silver Spring and Forest Glen, along with railcar testing and acceptance of Metro’s new fleet of 7000-series railcars between Twinbrook and Shady Grove.

Orange Line
Regular weekend service

Silver Line
Regular weekend service between Wiehle-Reston East and Stadium-Armory only

Silver Line trains will operate regular service throughout the weekend. All trains will operate to/from Stadium-Armory, rather than Largo Town Center. If you are traveling to or from a station east of Stadium-Armory, use a Blue Line train to complete your trip.

Blue Line
Trains every 24 minutes

Blue Line trains will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend.

Work Performed: Tunnel inspection and repair between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road.

Yellow Line
Regular weekend service between Huntington and Fort Totten

Green Line
Regular weekend service”
