Bark Victory! Burlesque Fundraiser at Bier Baron Sept. 5th

Bebe 2
Bebe

From a press release:

“On September 5 some big-hearted burlesquers, sideshow folks and musical comedy acts are coming together to raise money for Bebe, a 9-year-old ShihTzu who has cancer. Bebe’s treatment has consisted of a series of vaccines with each shot costing just under $800 and a couple of additional surgeries, all of which, so far, totals $7,000.

Bebe’s owner Momo Nakamura is a local actress who takes Bebe everywhere with her. The duo have even appeared onstage together in DC’s serialzed “doing good by doing theatre” festival, Hope Operas. Back in February Bebe had a surgery to remove a mass in her hind quarters that revealed a malignant melanoma. Without treatment, Bebe was given six months to live. Presented with various possible treatment options Momo chose the most humane, and coincidentally, financially burdensome treatment.

The fundraiser will feature performances by DC’s own sideshow girl Mab Just Mab,; DC’s spicy sweetheart burlesquer Candy del Rio; Baltimore’s burlesquing ballerina tapdancer Tapitha Kix; Aaron Spaace who puts the Bowie in boylesque; musical comedy duo Frankie & Betty and the evening is hosted by Lucrezia Blozia, best described as the bastard lovechild of Weird Al Yankovic and Divine.

BARK VICTORY! Tickets are $12 at the door. This event is for folks 21+. Doors open 8:00 PM, Show is 9:00 PM sharp. The Bier Baron is located at 1523 22nd St., N.W., Washington DC 20037, just north of the intersection of 22nd and P in Dupont Circle. Folks who are unable to attend but still wish to contribute can go to Bebe’s GoFundMe page.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
