Unfortunately the bad news continues tonight in Shaw. Readers report:

“This has been happening on 8th NW between S street and T street for hours. We can see cops and people in biohazard suits on the roof. They keep throwing things off and there are dozens of cop cars, EMS and a Fire Truck. I know there was a shooting close by earlier but I don’t know if this is related. Any idea?”

and

“Just a heads up – police and fire blocking the entire 1800 block of 8th St NW. Multiple official personnel on the roof of a house on the west side of the block with heavy equipment going in through the roof.”

and

“Mass police and fire deploy since 6:30. They’re trying to saw through the roof.”

Must be one of the houses in the middle of the block, I’ve seen the young couple that lives in the house on the end doing yard work and working on their house a lot. They don’t look like the kind responsible for any bodies.

Doesn’t matter if they are nice or not, bodies can appear. I new a very nice, peace loving family who found a dead body dumped on their farm close to the house. It was a nightmare for them. Not only the horror of finding the body, but they got dragged through the investigation and trial b/c the killers tried to frame the murder on them.

I live on this block. The police told us that a murder occurred in the house on Tuesday and the body was found by a contractor working on the house today. Victim was murdered with a hammer and shoved in the attic crawl space. Needed to use a saw to free the body. Suspect was arrested today. He fled out of state and called his mother, who turned him in.

        Funny because it’s true.

I live on this block also and the detective my housemate and I spoke with wasn’t nearly as forthcoming as with the person above. I noticed a foul smell as early as Tuesday, so makes me think the body may have been around longer? Regardless, horrible situation as the young men who live in the house all seem nice enough and incapable of this type of thing.

      Is it a group house?

      • Neighbor

Yeah, group house. 3-4 young African American males, I believe. Lots of coming and going from the place so hard to keep track. Haven’t seen any of the guys for a few weeks.

        • Another neighbor

That’s the wrong house. It is the one next door to them.

          • neighbor

Nope, it’s not. It is the white house, second one in, 1846 8th St. The one with the multiple young men. The houses on either side have young white couples.
