why so cheap/what is wrong with it.

It appears to be a basement unit, no? I sure don’t see many windows. That might explain the below average rental rate for the area.

+1. It looks dark and depressing down there.

Many Windows? I don’t see ANY windows.

Most basement row house apartments have the one front window and then one/two in the back. Yes, there are some that don’t feel like basements, but not many

      • It doesn’t help that they seem to have taken the photos at night.

There are some basements which don’t feel like basements (full windows all above ground) but this one is the absolute definition of a basement. Dark and small.

Yeah that is totally a basement and it was a very basement’y feel. That bathroom is crazy tiny – is it even possible to open the cabinets below the sink?

Stainless steel appliances? I only see a stove with that description.

    • There appears to be a stainless-steel microwave. But yeah, the fridge obviously isn’t stainless steel.

The building itself is kind of crack denny

Damn, that’s an ugly basement. Liveable? Sure. But it’s absolutely charmless.

Given the amount of rats I generally see flattened in the bike lane on nearby 17th street + the usual shit storm of traffic and parking around Lauriol Plaza, there is no price that would make this dingy basement worth it, IMO. But this is DC and people are crazy so this place is probably already locked down for a higher than advertised rent.

  • take that $1800 to non-batcave in a different neighborhood. Jeez.
