“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest.

On Friday, May 30, 2014, at approximately 9:24 pm, officers from the First District and a DC Housing Officer responded to a call for the report of a shooting in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 32 year-old Donta Thrower of Northwest. DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”
