Thanks to a reader for sending word that Ton Ton Chicken is coming April 7th to the former King of Kabob space which closed back in December. I wonder if this’ll be like Bonchon Chicken? Looking forward to checking them out. Could be a good lunch spot for those who work downtown.

Although not “open” yet, I walked into the place yesterday because the door was in fact open. There were a couple of people inside, eating something, not obviously chicken. I asked if it was going to be Korean fried chicken like Bonchon. The response was no, it will be American friend chicken. One caveat – it wasn’t clear that the person to whom I was talking was actually involved in running the place. We’ll see.

Whatever it is, it’s going to be two tons of fun!

Just tried it today. Looks pretty nondescript from the outside but the interior is brand new and spotless, and the food is great! I had the “Bento Box” special of teriki chicken, fried potatoes, curried chick peas, & miso soup. Excellent. Nice addition to the pretty boring set of delis around here.
