Husband Arrested and Charged with Arson for House Fire in Petworth where 80-year-old Lucille Proctor found Deceased

“The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made in an Arson that occurred in the 4600 block of 4th Street, NW.

On Thursday, February 13, 2014, at approximately 5:50 am, the District of Columbia Fire Department received a call for the report of a house on fire in the 4600 block of 4th Street, Northwest, Washington, DC. Upon arrival, members located a three story row house with fire present. After the fire was extinguished, an adult female was located unconscious and not breathing inside the dwelling. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services determined that there were no signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene and was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy to ascertain cause and manner of death.

The decedent has been identified as 80-year-old Lucille Proctor of Northwest, Washington, DC.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, 76-year-old Robert Proctor of Northwest, Washington, DC was arrested by members of the Third District Warrant Squad pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Arson in connection with the offense which occurred in the 4600 block of 4th Street, NW.”

HouseMouse Books and Vintage is excited to announce the debut of Escape the Bookshop II, our new limited-run escape room experience. Escape the Bookshop II is a unique group puzzle game that is based on a real crime that took place in Takoma Park around 130 years ago. It is designed and created by HouseMouse to be played in our atmospheric little bookshop. This is not your typical corporate escape room and makes for a memorable evening out with friends or family!

Bookings are now open for game dates in January through April 2024. The game generally takes place Wednesday through Saturday at 8 PM but special arrangements can be made upon request. It is designed to be played by a group of 3 to 6 people (ages 16+) and lasts for one hour. No prior escape room experience is needed to enjoy the game.
