“Dear PoPville,

My thought is to rent my condo, furnished, until the litigation lifts and I can sell it. Any advice on where to list? I’m on Craig’s List and Trulia and have posted a flyer in my building and at my neighborhood Starbucks. My HOA demands a minimum of 3 months so unfortunately airbnb is out. Thank you ever so much!”

Know anyone at the IMF or World Bank? I believe they have some sort of housing listing service (or perhaps it’s just word of mouth). People working there have $$$$ and their contracts are short term in nature (3-12 months), thus they want nice furnished places.

Similarly, might also be worth checking with local universities and maybe even hospitals–not necessarily for students (although who knows, maybe they’d have the budget) but for visiting professors, fellows, researchers, etc in town for a short stint.

You could also sign up with a corporate apartment management company. There’s a fee involved, but they find and screen the tenants and act as a buffer between you and the tenant (something that’s pretty valuable when your tenant locks himself out in the middle of the night). I’m biased (a friend owns it), but Attache Corporate Housing in Dupont Circle has great Yelp and Google reviews.
