Props to the Cops – Package Thief and Purse Snatching Arrests

“At approximately 1240 pm, plain clothes officers assigned to PSA 303 were conducting patrols related to the recent package thefts and burglaries in the area. While on patrol they observed an individual acting suspicious and looking into buildings. They followed the individual into the 2000 block of Kalorama Rd, NW where he entered the foyer of a condominium building and stole a package that was addressed to one of the building residents.

As the individual was opening the package the officers stopped him and placed him under arrest for theft. The Third District Detective’s Office is investigating any links between this suspect and the other package thefts and burglaries in the area.

If anyone has information related to this incident they are asked to contact MPD at 202 727-9099.”

“On June 29, 2013, at approximately 11:55 P.M., a citizen was accosted by several suspects in the 1800 block of New Hampshire Avenue, N.W. The suspects demanded the victim’s property, but the victim fled and was able to escape.

A short time later, the same group of suspects approached a second citizen at New Hampshire Avenue and T Street, N.W.. The suspects snatched the victim’s purse and fled east on T Street, N.W.

Third District police officers were in the area when they received the radio assignment for the attempted robbery. The officers quickly located and apprehended three suspects who were observed fleeing from the vicinity of the second robbery. The second victim’s purse was recovered by the officers. Pursuant to an on-scene investigation, all three suspects were arrested and charged with Attempt Robbery and Robbery Snatch.
