1541 14th Street, NW

Etto coming to the former Well Built space at 14th and Q St, NW soft opens this Wednesday. This is the new Italian restaurant from the owners of Standard (14th and S St, NW.) I stopped by yesterday to take a quick peek inside. To say that this place looks legit is a massive understatement. They even have their own mill! I’m dying to try a pizza from this oven:

And the bread looks pretty good too:

I’ve no doubt the place is gonna be smashed on Wed. but I look forward to fighting for a seat!

Continues after the jump.

Their own mill

Seating for about 50

14th and Q St, NW

  • is there bar seating? can’t tell from the pics…

  • Prince Of Petworth

Yes there is a small bar seating area. (The bar area wasn’t photo ready when I was there)

    nice… very very nice.

This looks really, really nice. I hope the food is as good as it seems it will be!

  • Hopefully all these Italian spots coming to 14th Street are sufficiently distinguishable.

Wasn’t there a roomer that this was going to be more casual/carryout/deli? I’m sorely disappointed as that would be a welcome, different addition to the neighborhood.

Looks like somebody has already started slicing off some pigleg! Looks fantastic. I hope the quality of their food matches the quality of their tools.

You had me at the Standard.

  • Wow, they finished this place off quickly! When I moved out from across the street less than a month ago it looked like barely any work had been done. More cured pig options are definitely a good thing, as long as they don’t go as crazy as the $85 / lb that Three Little Pigs was charging.

There’s Old Speckled Hen on draft!!!

Black Whiskey also has Old Speckled Hen on draft, FYI.

    • I can’t tell if you’re excited about this fact or angry? (depends on your opinion of Old Speckled Hen)

I like Old Speckled Hen. Tasty, and a good food beer. I think it should be on draft in more places. Not quite what I expect in an Italian restaurant, though. Hence the exclamation marks.

sure wish I lived close by, I would be there for sure. It looks good – you all did an awesome deco place. Then again, I had no doubt that you would.

    Congratulations to you all
