From MPD around 4pm:
A short time ago officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery in the area of 14th Street and W Street, NW. I citizen was walking at the location, when he was approached by the suspect who grabbed the citizen around his neck and demanded his money. The citizen yelled to call the police and the suspect fled the area on foot.
Plainclothes officers deployed in the area located the suspect and he was placed under arrest for assault with intent to rob.
Anyone with additional information related to this incident is asked to contact MPD at 202 727-9099.
