  • How can we get this for the trees in the Columbia Heights Square and in front of Target/Children’s Place? They take a beating from pedestrians.

      The plaque says it’s a DDOT/Georgetown BID project. So, I’d start by contacting DDOT and the Tivoli North Business Association.

    I think it looks great, and I’m glad they put the little plaque there to explain, because I’m sure a lot of people instantly freak out and think that it’s asphalt.

      Just saw this today for the 1st time. Yes, the explanation plaque is a good idea. Great solution for crowded areas where plantings could never make it (mentioned below.) Ugly? Not as ugly as mud and litter.

    this same product was also used on a tree iin front of Matchbox on 14th St (without a plaque). It has been there for at least a year. maybe 2.
