Dear PoPville,

I was on H street this afternoon and noticed that Little Miss Whiskey’s had some work done recently. It is a noticeable upgrade to the previously understated exterior. Notably, they installed purple neon light trimming on the roof of the building, a large fleur-de-lis on the top of the building, a new custom silver door, and painted the whole building shades of purple. It looks great in my estimation!

Nice! I think it looks great too. What do you guys think – thumbs up or down?

  • Gee

It is a thumbs up – love the color

  • Thumbs way up!

  • They added a second level to the patio outback, too.

    • Rather, built a deck off the back of the second floor that is now over the patio space.

looks like a lesbian bar now

or that crazy funeral home in Bloomingdale with the ghost jesus painted on the side

Taylor Funeral Home. nothing crazy about it. very respectable business.

yea, forreal! Why must the lesbians take all our fun and gaiety?

    • Caroline

      I wish!

I saw this in person on Sunday and I like it a lot (purple is my favorite color).

Unique, love it. Fits perfectly with the eclectic decor inside. They are also do renovations on the back patio area.

What’s going on with the interesting building next to Newsom?

    • Kenny G

you mean the formerly interesting building…? As I rode by this morning, they were about halfway through demolishing the arches. No idea what’s going on with it.

      • That Man A

i read the permits in the windows a few weeks ago, i forget what it said though (drunk night)

but damn, the arches are what made the building so appealing. i was always looking forward to it being redone because of the arches

What??? Nooooo. I thought they were keeping the arches! Who in their right mind would demolish them? :(

  • I don’t mind the lavender paint that much, although I wish they’d done the trim in white rather than dark purple.

But the gold security (?) door and fleur-de-lis? Sorry, I can’t approve.

    • It’s a Saints bar/New Orleans bar. Fits the theme. I love it!

I the door has been there for a while now which i didnt mind
but i liked the building a lot more when it didnt scream HERE IS A BAR, it is far more noticable at night time

This was once my favorite bar but im not sure if that is the case any more. the crowd has gotten far more “adams morginish” over time

i prefered it when it had the exterior of a speak easy

the purple glow was a bit of a giveaway

    • I don’t care for it on Saturday nights, but I don’t like any H St spot on weekend nights. It’s still awesome most of the time though.
