On Sunday Corner Bakery will be closing in Union Station:

But for those who are big fans, fear not, a new one is opening up nearby – photos after the jump.

500 North Capitol St, NW

Literally on a corner this time – North Capitol and E Street, NW. Looks like it’s gonna be a big buildout. Construction plans:

And it’s in sight of Union Station:

blast! i like their swiss oatmeal for my MARC commute…

  • Great location, but grown a tad sullen in recent years, no?

  • Pret a Manger is pretty tough competition … freshly made every day and great prices. I agree with sullen.

    • Love the Pret so much. Was so happy when I found some opened in DC

The bookstore and bakery will be closed. Going to be a dark part of Union Station.

    • They need to move the liquor store back upstairs and expand it.

Guess I’ll have to walk in an opposite direction from my office to get my monster cookie fix… it’s a serious addiction.

Unfortunate for commuters that they are leaving a convenient spot…but good that they are hanging around at a new spot. I do like their breakfast and lunch options and the food is quality

I’m planning on opening a knockoff called Coroner Bakery, which sells breads and pastries baked in the shapes of severed human appendages.
