Vintage No. 5 is located on the 2nd floor above above Desporados at 1342 U Street, NW. Vintage No. 5 used to be located in Adams Morgan at 2704 1/2 Ontario Rd, NW. Their website says:

We work hard to find great clothing, some vintage as well as carefully selected new items. It is the perfect place for someone that would like to put together a great outfit for under $50. Trendy accessories are important. Purses, scarfs, belts, hats, and great vintage jewelry – very pretty pieces from the 40’s through the 70’s, as well as new accessories. Come browse our collectibles, jewelry, art and books.

We also have some furniture, small tables, chairs, stools, stands to dress up a room. Come take a look!

Has anyone ever been here? It’d sure be nice to have places like this succeed but it seems a little hodgepodge to me. Almost like a moving sale so you have a little of this and a little of that.

They may want to invest a few dollars into their sign. It’s not very inviting at all. I mean, come on!

  • pet peeve

do they have a public space permit for their mannequin and does Desperados have a permit for their sign? ticks me off when stuff takes over the sidewalks w/o regard for pedestrians!

it’s a city! let the sidewalk be lively. and crowded.

      I didn’t realize a doorway and a patio constitute a sidewalk! Ugh!

I’m a seasoned collector of all sorts of things – the owner of No5 Vintage has some beautiful pieces for great prices. Forget the signage, permits and hodge-podge nonsense – treat yourself to a vist.

This place is actually wonderful! A total dc vintage gem! I found some amazing pieces (including a vintage DVF dress from the 80’s which i got for about $25) of jewelry and bags and clothing items. The owner is as sweet as pie and she genuinely loves what she does. She isnt there to rip people off. Definitely worth a visit!

Ps…why do ppl get so worked up over street signs?? Instead of picking on stupid issues why don’t you try to help out local businesses! Maybe our economy wouldn’t be suffering so bad if we didn’t have this conservative picky ignorant mentality! Build a bridge people!
