This is awesome! Where is it in Mt. P?

  • Anonymous

18th, between Kenyon and Kilbourne. It’s incredibly sweet–our son wants a swing every time we pass.

  • Only in Mt P!

  • This is also the tree that was a victim of assault with salt – someone drilled holes into the trunk and poured salt in and around the holes (you can see a few in this photo).

    • anon

sheesh… people never stop amazing me with how senseless they can be

    • So you’re saying the tree was A-SALT-ED?!

      heyo!

      • Bahahaha Amazing. Horrible bark-tality — a crime to the trees in this town.

      • an attempt of treecide!

      • TG

That perpetrator must have really arbored some resentment.

      • qst

Why couldn’t they just leaf it alone?

        • Anonymous

I hope the perp doesn’t branch out to other trees in the city.

      • Yes, they peppered the roots with salt.

        • deafwilly

The world is full of bigotree.

    Very cool!

  • David J

    Looks fun. 🙂

Just concerned hat this will bring a lawsuit to the owner when someone gets injured using it.

    • Anonymous

i should not have read this comment.

    • Anonymous

Oh someone will get injured and file a lawsuit. I would be surprised if they didn’t.

    • wylie coyote

As an attorney, I would gladly defend the swing owners pro bono against any lawsuit. And I have loads of lawyer friends who would do the same. Sorry, we have to draw the line somewhere for society: people who provide complimentary swings to the community should be protected at all costs.

      • MFF

Thanks – glad you enjoy the swing. Will be in touch should a lawyer be necessary! We managed to chase away the tree attacker several times, so glad the community keeps loving the tree. He hasn’t been back since we put up the new swing.

Meanwhile, stick out for the little library that we’re constructing and stop by to swap books.

    • I’m sure there’ll be a disclaimer under that sign pretty soon!

      • Anonymous

        Not a bad idea!

  • TG

I hope this swing stays and that none of the obvious things that we can all think of will happen to it: vandalized, someone is hurt/files suit, city forces them to take it down, ANC requires zoning variance for swing use, and so on and so on.

  • Tom Flynn

It is acts of kindnes for all that make this world better. Thanks Aidan
