Update from MPD:
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 500 block of Crittenden Street, NW.
On Saturday, June 23, 2012, at approximately 1:51 am, Fourth District officers responded to the 500 block of Crittenden Street, NW to investigate a report of a shooting. Once they arrived on the scene, officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The decedent has been identified as
23-year-old Antione Bates of Northwest, DC.The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to
$25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
