Mad Momos “Global Fusion” Restaurant Coming to Columbia Heights

by Prince Of Petworth January 12, 2012 at 10:30 am 16 Comments

Back in March 2011 I mentioned that a new global fusion restaurant hoped to come to 3605 14th St, NW bringing a mix of Asian/Indian/Latin ingredients. After a small delay getting permits in order, I’m happy to share the news that things are back on track. The name of the restaurant will be Mad Momos and if construction goes according to plans, they hope to soft open sometime in May. One more detail from the global fusion mix – beer. They also hope to open a small scale beer garden in the back patio.

Stay tuned for more details as construction progresses.

I have a PoP request: please include the cross street in stories like this and save me the google. I’m unable to translate 3600 block into 14th and Perry without looking it up. Thanks!

And back on topic, happy to see another vacant going away.

      +1

yes please. through the 2000s it’s fine because the grid is fairly uniform, but once you get past that, the block numbering can be inconsistent and it isn’t particularly helpful. for example, the 3600 block of 13th is at Otis.

Why do we settle for such mediocrity in this city?

    • Prince Of Petworth

Perhaps you are a bit confused – they are not open yet…

Nope. No confusion here. Global fusion? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUPH5OhXC1A

I’m just calling it like I see it.

Ach, you know Seinfeld is my weakness!!!

          • What happened to your avatar? It’s gone.

    • Stavros

I didn’t know Seinfeld was set in DC.

Looks like a lot of police tape in that picture

I’ve never heard of Indian/Latin fusion.

WHY have I never heard of that? It sounds perfect.

I like this idea right up to the point that you can no longer park along perry or holmead anymore. Right now street parking is pretty easy in the neighborhood.

WHY DOESN’T ANYONE THINK OF THE PARKING?!?! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, FORGET NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT, MY PARKING SPOT IS GOING TO GO AWAY!!!

Welcome to the 21st century. You can still have your car but the rest of the city and world won’t revolve around it. Some of us get along just fine without them and you should give it a try!
