Their farewell message:

“It is with great gratitude and pleasure to announce the retirement of Thai Kingdom Restaurant and Bar. This being our twenty fifth year in Washington DC, we thought there would be no better time to say our goodbyes then the present. We thank all our loyal patrons that have made it possible for us to have been here for so long. Thank You for sharing your special moments with us, and allowing us to have so many fond memories to take away. We invite all patrons to celebrate with us before we close our doors for good on August 5th 2011.”

Ah, I have such great memories of being served there as a minor during my internship summer. Rest in peace.

I will remember my first underage Zombie during my GW days 15 years ago…

During a decade working at 1850 K St, that place was a nice respit from corporate desk life, like entering another world of royalty and gods. Thai folks have got a good thing going and that place demonstrated many aspects of it.

Where am I going to find my favorite dish “Anna and the King”? Scallop wrapped in minced chicken in a sweet basil sauce

  • Belmont Street

This place was definitely well known in my GW days – great memories of eating, drinking underage, and smoking in the restaurant in college. Haven’t been there for a while, but it will be missed.
